Hello, my name is Ellie, and I have started a small rattery in Yarra Glen VIC,
Selling to pet and breeder homes across Melbourne (sorry I am unable to freight interstate at the moment)
I have owned pet rats since I was 12 (over 11 years) and I would love to see the day when rats become as common a household pet as the dog or cat. Rats make excellent pets for all ages, and my goal here at Elliem Rattery is to provide healthy and well tempremented rats to the general community, spreading the joy and love that is pet rats.
I will only breed from rats that show exceptional health and temprement. Sick or aggressive rats should never be bred, and remain as loving pets only. We cannot guarentee that every rat produced here will be of excellent health, as every experienced breeder or buyer knows that even two healthy parents does not guarentee a litter of entirely healthy offspring, But we strive to do our best in improving health and we are always honest and open about our methods. We will never knowingly sell an unhealthy rat without first making the buyer fully aware of the situation. And we offer to take back any rats that you have adopted from us if for any reason at any time you are no longer able to keep them.
We also take in 'rescue' rats on occation- if you need to find a new home for your rats asap please let us know. And we also 'baby sit' rats whilst owners are on holidays, if you are interested in this service, email for further details.
Rats do best in pairs or more, and it is generally considered cruel within the fancy to keep a rat living on it's own for any extrended period of time without reason. I often sell baby rats in pairs, and will not sell a lone rat unless you can prove that you already have other rats of the same gender at home already. I sell my babies for the standard fancy price of $25.00ea or a pair for $40.00.
